About Us
The idea to found Dailima was born in September 2020. We started as two partners: Yara Flores and Franco Sanchez. Both deeply rooted in Peru — one with a Peruvian father, the other a native Peruvian.
Studies brought us to Germany, but the desire to contribute something meaningful to our home country's growth was always there. It also so happens that we both love coffee.
Peruvian coffee is gaining worldwide recognition, and Peruvian organic coffee in particular belongs to the top tier. Yet the true experts — the Peruvian coffee farmers who make this extraordinary product possible — remain, despite numerous fair trade initiatives, the ones who benefit least. This needs to be said clearly: they are the most important link in the entire coffee value chain. That is why it matters to us to build genuine, personal relationships with them through direct trade, and to ensure they receive more — more appreciation, more recognition, and of course more remuneration.
From the beginning, we focused on paying fair prices, and we have bigger aims for the future centered on how we can use our profits for positive impact. Our responsibility is above all to give these essential people what they deserve, and to bring them back into focus within the global coffee culture. We also want to unlock the full potential of Peruvian coffee and share it with the world — and in doing so, hopefully build greater awareness for it and our home.
The name Dailima is a play on words: dilemma and Lima. In this case, a positive dilemma — whichever product you choose, we stand for the highest possible quality, genuine enjoyment, and a meaningful use of our profits. And Lima: birthplace, home, the spot for which our hearts beat, and above all the capital of a country with world-class coffee.
Since 2025, we are also available in Barcelona through the outstanding work of our on-location partner Ernesto.
Enjoy! Franco & Yara
